Facebook Review

This piece is intended for all audiences. Its purpose is to describe the effects social networking sites such as Facebook may have on the average person.

If theres one thing that i could guarantee from the beginnning of this review, its that Facebook is instantly addictive. You join on a Monday and by the Wednesday its possible to have added everyone from you school and all the people that you live with to your friends list. On top of that your page isn't private, anyone can add you as a friend, and you just have to confirm that you know them. The ability to see what people are up to can be quite dangerous however. For starters it is a great way to time waste. Ten minutes turns into half an hour, and eventually a whole hour of your life has just passed you by. You go from one friend to another, checking out their photos and who they are seeing. The site is simple. You sign up, completely free of charge, and pick a network (where you live.) Once this is done you have created a home page. The site asks you to upload a picture of yourself so people know who you are and then you fill in your user profile. Some good things about it would be that it's a free way of communicating with your friends. Whenever you send a facebook message the recipient gets an email letting them know, so it will be read quickly.A downside might be that there is a total lack of privacy. There are only two privacy features- the first being the ability to block people. Overall I would recommend anyone to join 'facebook.' It's a safe and free way of communicating with your friends, and getting back in touch with people you haven't seen in years.

Smallville Review

This piece is intended for all audiences and its purpose is to advertise a T.V. show to the audience and give them a detailed description of it...without spoiling the show.

Smallville...the show that many have expected to arise. We have all herd about Superman...but nothing about his past or how he became the "Man of Steel." Before there was a Superman, there was Clark Kent. Before he had a Lois Lane, he had Lana Lang. Before Lex Luthor was a foe, he was a friend. And before there was a Metropolis, there was Smallville. In case you didn't know, Smallville tells the remarkable story of a young boy named Clark Kent who is one day destined to become the hero we all know as Superman. Its mainly about the growing up of Superman as a young school kid Clark Kent in a tiny town of Smallville who comes from an exploding planet,Krypton and shows show him discovering new abilities slowly as he matures and shares relationships with others.Has all the main characters from the comics. Its fascinating to watch the super youngster gradually growing up and discovering new powers. If you don't already watch the show, you have no idea what you are missing. It has everything you could ever ask for in a show. Interesting characters (played by phenomenal actors), great storylines, unforgettable moments, and great character development. If you're not a Superman fan, you can still enjoy this show. So if you haven't seen Smallville yet, I guarantee...your missing out;)

Madonna Accident Dispute

This piece is inteded for audiences between the ages of 16 to 50 and its purpose is to educate the publuic with events that are carroed out in our world today.

In late April, Madonna has taken a small drop while horseback riding in New York's Hamptons but needless t say has suffered "minor injuries" and bruises. Madonna’s personal spokeswoman says the pop star fell Saturday afternoon when she was talking a walk with the horse and it was unexpectedly startled by paparazzi who "jumped out of the bushes" to photograph her. Her Spokeswoman says Madonna was treated at a Southampton hospital and was released fairly quickly. She won't disclose more details on the singer's condition. It was reported that the pop singer was talking a day off and had just been visiting friends in the Hamptons, which is now “a playground for the rich and famous on the eastern end of Long Island.” Interestingly enough this was not her first fall. A while back Madonna was thrown from a horse in England in the summer of 2005. She cracked three ribs and broke her collarbone and a hand in that accident. Luckily this time it wasn’t as bad.

Obama visits CIA

This piece is intended for an audicence abve the age of 18. The purpose of this piece is write an editorial on how Americas new president is cleaning up after George Bush's ignorance.

In late April, Americas newly founded President Barack Obama banned abusive CIA interrogations and closed the CIA's secret overseas jails in his second day in office,. With a few strokes of a pen, the president overturned years of wrongheaded policy by some within the Justice Department and White House who put policy outcomes above the law.It was reported there were 124 pages of secret memos written in 2002 and 2005 and they reveal how the Justice Department insiders twisted U.S. laws to allow techniques bordering on torture for some al-Qaida captives, including simulated drowning, confinement in tiny boxes, being slammed against walls and an insect torment. Some suggest the harsh methods helped avoid al-Qaida attacks -- but whether that's so, or whether the same information might have come from more lawful means but that would be impossible to say. Obama then gave a great speech in which he was quoted “Shine far more light on what was done to promote abuses, who did it and the context. Then, fix the flaws that allowed ideology and mistaken assumption to trump institutional knowledge. Expose the full range of documents, decision-makers and outcomes, but keep the focus on the truth, not punishment. And above all, do not let such a crucial probe slip into damaging partisan political attack. That would undercut any efforts to repair a broken system.”

Selling Daughter

This piece is inteded for audiences between the ages of 16 to 50 and its purpose is to educate the publuic with events that are carroed out in our world today.

The father of child actress Rubina Ali who played in the famous movie "Slumdog Millionaire" which recently hot theatres tried to sell his 9-year-old daughter for adoption in a bid to attempt to escape the Mumbai slums. Rafiq Qureshi (who is the father) wanted 20 million rupees ($400,000) for the girl, who played Latika in "Slumdog Millionaire" which was set in India. It may have something to do with the fact that "Slumdog Millionaire," a rags-to-riches tale of children from the slums of Mumbai, won eight Oscars in February, including the best picture Academy Award and yet the family received very little money for this masterpiece. Some reporters had posed as a wealthy family from Dubai, employing its regular "fake sheikh" sting tactic.
It was reported that Qureshi was touting for the highest offer, having already been approached by a Middle Eastern family.” Yes, we are considering Rubina's future," Qureshi was quoted as saying. Along with “If you wanted to adopt we could discuss this, but her parents would also expect some proper compensation in return. Whatever money is agreed I will accept but we need two or three months," This disturbing incident took place about a week after Qureshi proudly carried Rubina through the Mumbai slums in February after she returned from the Oscars.

Hijacking

This piece is intended for audiences between the ages of 16 and 30. The purpose of this piece is to educate the audience on some events that are taking place in ur world as we speak.

In Kingston, Jamaica There has been news that an amature gunman had forced his way though airport security and hijacked a Canadian jet as well as holding six crew members hostage for eight hours before police and soldiers stormed the aircraft on Monday and captured the man. Nobody was killed or injured which would be the good news as welll as it ended with a raid near daylight after talks broke down with a 20-year-old Jamaican hijacker described as "mentally challenged." The Jamaican Information Minister told The Associated Press and was quoted saying. "We were getting nowhere with the negotiations. Police and military went on the plane and captured him." The suspect identified as Stephen Fray was in custody. He did not detail the man's mental condition but said he was apparently upset over a failed relationship. The hostage crisis that began around 10:20 p.m. Sunday and ended near 6:40 a.m., when members of the Jamaica Defence Force Counter Terrorism Operations Group stormed the aircraft's cabin, according to a police statement. A total of 159 passengers and eight crew members were aboard the Boeing 737 at the time, according to Jamaican police. Police said all the passengers and two crew members were released after a short time. There were unconfirmed reports that a shot was fired outside the aircraft, CanJet Vice President Kent Woodside said in a news conference Monday. He said the passengers also were robbed.

Conversation with Johnny Depp

This piece is intendend for all audiences. Especially those that are Johnny Depp fans. The purpose of this piece is to presume what a famous person would be like if you could talk to them in person.

EK: Hey Johnny.

Johnny Depp: Hello.

EK: Hello. Now listen have you finished doing Pirates of the Caribbean now?

JD: Err, no we’re still working way, um we’ve taken a couple of little hiatuses, a couple of breaks, and err that were built into the schedule but we’re going to be shooting 2 for a little bit longer and then Pirates 3 we’ll be shooting up until probably the middle to end of next year.

EK: That’s really cool. So you’ll also still quite into music because I know you kind of famously hooked up with Oasis and I think Noel paid you a complement about you’re guitar playing.

JD: Oh yeah.

EK: was he right to do that?

JD: Well he was, he was, err, he was just being very, very sweet you know.

EK: He was being generous.

JD: I kind of plonked around on the guitar and, err, made some noise and, err, and you know they kept it on the record. Which was great honour for me. I got to, I got to play on two Oasis tracks.

EK: Yeah which is pretty good. Who else are you into at the moment band wise?

JD: Err, boy, I still, I still like, you know, I think, I like The Libertines very much.

EK: Oh totally.

JD: The Libertines are great. I also like the stuff I’m hearing, err, the Babyshambles stuff is really nice.

EK: Yeah very good. Do you actually get to go to gigs at all?

JD: Err, I got to go to, err, a Stones gig actually.

EK: Oh wow. What was it like?

JD: Unbelievable. Unbelievable.

EK: That’s good. You’re children aren’t of gig going age yet are they? Do you take them along?

JD: Oh my kiddies, you know, my kiddies have been going to concerts since, literally my boy Jack went to, err, a Bob Dylan concert when he was three weeks old.

EK. Wow.

JD: So yeah, they’re pretty well versed.

EK: What do they make of you when they see you on films and on screen. Are they aware yet of what you do and who you are? To them your dad obviously.

JD. Yeah. To them, I’m you know, I’m just papa, you know, but, err, to them it’s normal. It’s just sort of oh yeah there’s dad on TV or there’s dad’s movie or whatever, you know, it’s not a big deal to them.

EK: But doing something like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

JD: That was, err, it was a frightening moment because more than anything, being worried about anything else in terms of, you know, reviews being harsh or critical, you know, of my performance I wasn’t partially worried about. I was worried about my kids reaction to my version of Willy Wonka and I was happily kind of surprised when they came back from seeing the film and start quoting Wonka, you know. My son, my three year old, came in and went “You’re really weird”. (Laughs).

EK: I know what you mean Johnny but its getting pretty late. Thank you very much for making some time to talk.

JD: Not at all Emil, thank you.
