Neverending Wait at the Bus Stop

Intended for audiences between 13 and 18The purpose of this piece is to observe someone and form a story or make conclusions based on what is seen on the outside from a third person point of view.

Tanya is in the glass booth sitting on the little piece of wood that can barely be considered a “bench” all snuggled up just hoping the bus would actually arrive at the time that it was intended to as shown on the pole beside her. She was on the way back from her friend’s house before she just missed the previous bus that would take her to the comfort and warmth of her own home. Beside her, neatly placed on the ground not to far away was something that looked like a dark blue gym bag. From this we presume that one of her hobbies may be going to the gym and exercising as her body also had a lot to show for it. She was wearing light grey track pants with the letters TNA running down the side as well as a pair of light brown boots and a really big pink jacket with a fur hood over her head. Stuck on the gym bag was a nametag the name “Tanya” on it and the label “Superstore” on top of it in big black letters. From that I guessed that she may be a part time employee at the store. She looked about nineteen years old but was quite short for that age. Her face was hidden within her hood so there were very small glimpses of facial expression. She looked tired and cold and very anxious for the bus to arrive. She lived in the nabourhood with both her parents and her little brother for quite some time now. She lived a normal happy life and looked quite proud of her achievements.

Time is Ticking

This is intended for audiences between 13 and 18.The purpose of this piece is to observe someone and form a story or make conclusions based on what is seen on the outside from a third person point of view.

Veronica is sitting in the passenger seat of her 1999 Dodge Caravan which is perfectly parked in front of a building lobby. She is wearing blue tight jeans, a white short sleeve shirt and a thin dark blue jacket to go with her baby blue flip-flops. She is waiting for her husband to come down so that they could leave for the party they have been planning to go to for over a week now. They had already been on their way until her husband realized he had forgotten his drivers licence at home and they had to quickly drive back to get it. Both her and her husband just moved to Canada about eight months ago and have lived in that building since. Judging by her attire and posture, she looked no more then twenty-two years old and quite wealthy as well. As I glimpsed into the back seat I could see two tennis rackets and a couple of large black binders. Judging by these items I believe that her job would have something to do with accounting or business and some of her hobbies would be playing tennis with her husband. From her facial expression we could distinguish that she was quite happy but there were some glimpses of agony in her countenance. I though this was due to the fact that her husband was taking quite a long time upstairs thus making them late for the party. Both she and her husband have all their relatives living down in the United States of America. That left them living in Toronto with there three children; one who was a boy while the other two girls.

Life of a Cell Phone:))

Day One:
Lying here early in the morning, just waiting for someone to come and turn me on. I’m feeling quite cold as I have not been in anyone’s pocket or hands for a good twelve hours. It’s not easy being a cell phone. You get used all the time. The only time people pay attention to you is when they need to call someone or someone is calling them. Other than that it’s just a short boring life. Just sitting here waiting for my battery to die but that doesn’t really madder because when my battery is low they just plug me into the outlet and watch as I get back up to 100 percent. Sometimes if I get lucky they find time to play games on me and send text messages. It’s quite fun while it lasts.

Day Two:
Lets just hope today is a lot better than yesterday. Since the family was out, they accidentally left me at home so all I did was just sit patiently on the living room table waiting for them to come. I even had a chance to have a decent conversation with the salt about which one of us does more harm to the human’s immune system. I got used a couple of times in the morning already and have been receiving quite a lot of texts. The dog already tried to grab me a couple of times (since I have a little key chain on the bottom which was hanging from the table). I’m just happy he couldn’t reach because if he had managed to grab me we may have had some problems.

Day Three:
Today was quite fun. I received a couple of long distance calls which meant that I got the chance to spend a lot of time with my owners. They used me for a good six hours today. Not only that but I was also the center of attention to some of my owners friends because he was showing off some of my features. I tried my hardest not to blush but I did flash once in a while. They were all pressing my buttons and trying me out. It was quite interesting actually as they were all amazed at a little gadget like me. I felt a little surge of happiness as they shot out compliment after compliment. After all that excitement I was really worn out so they had to connect me to the charger so I could be ready and fresh for the next day.

Day Four:
Today wasn’t a really pleasant day for me due to the fact that there was something wrong with the last text message that I received and it caused me to freeze a lot. My owner did not approve of this and therefore took me to the closest Best Buy to try and get me fixed. It wasn’t as pleasant as I thought it would be. Like I enjoy people touching me and pressing my buttons but the associates there had to open me up to see what was wrong. I felt so exposed. I was there for at least two hours and it actually felt like forever. They kept running some wires through me and poking me with a really small and sharp screw driver. I was extremely relived when it was all done. Although I didn’t enjoy when they opened me up, I now felt like a brand new cell phone. It was an amazing feeling to be back in my owners face afterwards and see him smiling at me once again as he started making calls.

Heartless...?

It was in my last period World Issues class that this interesting conversation was brought to my attention. I sit at the front of the class and there is a boy and I a girl that are right behind me. I believe the cause of this argument that I overheard started because they made a bet which one of them would get a higher mark on a test. It started by the boy teasing her that he received a higher grade then her. It went something like this.
“Looser...guess who beat you?!?!?”
“O crap. So it happens, don’t get to excited.”
“Right, well I guess you should expect it to happen a lot more as we progress through the year.”
“Don’t count on it, we know you cheated, there is no way you could have gotten perfect on that”
“Looser, don’t be jealous, it’s ok.”
“You’re an idiot.”
“You’re a goof. A heartless goof”
I guess the girl got offended for being called heartless because she started hitting him and didn’t want to talk to him for the rest of the class. Still it was a pretty entertaining way to end a last period class.:))

Woman’s Touch

It was this afternoon as I was in school walking back from my last period world issues class just minding my own business and thinking of the vast amount s of homework that my new semesters teachers have piled up. It was at my locker that I heard a really interesting conversation between a boy and another girl whose lockers were close to mine. The girl was telling the boy how she had track after school but didn’t want to go alone and no one else would go with her. It was funny because the boy was also in track but told her that he didn’t want to go because he had night school and supposedly a lot of studying to do. She kept trying to convince him by pulling him and even trying to sweet-talk him. He was very stubborn and didn’t give in to her attempts. It was when he put his bag on and said a last goodbye that she quickly ran over to him and gave him a kiss on the cheek and looked at him with puppy eyes and asked him to please go to track with her just for today. He then gave in and went to change into his gym clothes to get ready for track.

Bank Job

I was going out considering there was nothing left to do at home and I was really bored. So I called some of my friends so that we could meet up and go on the Danforth for a bite. We decided to meet up at the bank near my house because we all needed to take out some money. As usual I was a little late and my friends beat me to the bank. As I entered there was also another stranger waiting to use the bank machine. My friends didn’t hear me go in as I heard them plan to play a prank on the stranger waiting to use the machine. I stood by the other atm hoping they wouldn’t see me because I really wanted to see how this would turn out. One of my friends asked the other” What do you want to do?” While the other answered “Let’s make it look like we are going to break into the atm.” So they started saying things out loud like “So where should we put the explosives” and “Where is our getaway car”. The man waiting in line picked up his things and ran out. It really made our day.:P

Movie within a Movie

We were really bored on Monday night and had nothing to do. School was over and neither I nor any of my friends had any homework. We didn’t know what to do so we decided to go to the movies at Eglington and Warden. We decided on watching “Push” and bought our tickets. As we sat down in our seats on the top row to get comfortable, a male and female couple sat right in front of us. As the movie started, their conversation continued. Although it was a one sided conversation it they got quite carried away and started talking very loud. The male’s voice even started to drown out that of the movie we were watching so we all decided to listen in to their conversation so see what was so important. The boy was trying to convince the girl to give him a kiss (it was probably a first date) and it was really amusing because the girl kept on refusing and pushing him off. He kept saying “Can’t I just have one kiss? Please just one kiss honey, just look at me and let me have that one kiss”. It was really entertaining for us because at the end the girl just said “Listen here....I just want to watch the movie, I paid all $10.50 for this movie and I even had to give you some change for you to buy your ticket, so just shut up and let’s finish the movie”. My friends and I were pretty content for the rest of the night since we got to watch live show within a movie for the price of one ticket.
